I had to buy a new laptop because the old one I missed the LCD screen. Using the PC business, I wanted to spare no expense in purchasing and I took a model with larger screen and high-performance range. The problem is that, alas, trying tonight to launch the same macro Excel on both PC, the new has proven to be much slower than the old ... and not just (of 9 times!): 10 seconds it takes the old and the new 90.
But whose fault is it, the computer hardware or operating system? In fact the new Vista Home Premium Notebook mounts as the old XP Home. Both are two Asus but as the old mounts an Intel Pentium M (the doily) from 1.60 GHz and 1.25 GB of RAM, the new mount an Intel Core Duo T7500 with 2.20 GHz and 2.00 GB of RAM .
What do I do now: I format everything and install Windows XP or is it just the processor that is slower?
There may be other reasons? (Processor speed is set by software to the maximum both for this test)

I deleted all the duplicate: will be less convenient to use but definitely lighter.
Now the macro from 90 seconds to put us first, to put it there 3.
The old pc before there put 10 .. now it would be instantaneous.
On balance, however, was much more difficult to downgrade to XP because you find all the drivers that do not even know if they're products ... and most also believe lapse guarantee.
In doing so instead I put a piece and I can use the file, still waiting to find the solution might reside in a service pack to be part of Vista or Office.
